How to create a secondary FTP account on IXWebhosting (Linux)

What is an FTP secondary account?

The easiest way to let your friends and colleagues work in different directories under your account is to create secondary accounts. A secondary account consists of a username and password. This account has full permissions on a specific directory, but has no access to the root directory, other directories, or the control panel. FTP secondary accounts do not require dedicated IP (dedicated IP)

Set up a secondary FTP account

Create a secondary FTP account:
• Click the FTP Manager icon in the Control Panel.
• Find FTP sub-accounts at the bottom of the page and click the Add icon.

• On the next page, enter the login name and password for this account, and set the directories restricted to this account. This directory must specify the corresponding root directory. If you leave the directory field blank, then this secondary FTP account will have access to your entire root directory.
• After filling in the form, you can click the Edit icon next to an existing username to view the user's details.

FTP Transfer: From here you can see the transfer traffic of each FTP secondary account.
Home Directory: /hsphere/local/home/(FTP username)/(folder name)
Host Name: The host name refers to the direct network server address and can be used to log in instead of the domain name.
