The top ten most notorious hosting companies in the United States

It is for reference only and does not represent the views of this website!
Since there are ten well-known American hosting companies, there will naturally be ten notorious American hosting companies. Although I am not a very talented person, I have been working in the US hosting industry for several years and I am well aware of the marketing strategies and development history of the major US hosting providers. For example, Hostgator is a very famous hosting provider. From 2002 to date, the latest data shows that there are more than 2.5 million websites on their servers. But did you know that such a large company as Hostgator uses all the data centers of The Planet, which means that all the servers are hosted at The Planet.
Maybe you want to know how Hostgator developed, so let me give you a brief introduction. Hostgator's CEO started his first business in the hosting industry when he was in high school, but it failed. After graduating from college, he started another business and founded Hostagtor. It can be said that their CEO is not good at design and programming, but he is well aware of the marketing strategies of the hosting market. He provides generous returns to sellers, and sometimes you will be surprised why so many websites have their advertising links. Of course, Hostgator is not impeccable, it also has its own limitations. For example, it focuses on Linux hosts, and there are many people abroad who need Windows hosts. In the United States, the only two hosting companies that are as famous as Hostgator are Bluehost and HostMonster. IX Web Hosting is not very famous in the United States, but in China, IX's fame has surpassed other hosting companies. Apart from these hosting providers, there are other good ones like InMotion, Arvixe, GreenGeeks. InMotion and Arvixe can provide Linux and Windows servers, while GreenGeeks only provides Linux servers. The CEOs of Arvixe and GreenGeeks have both contacted me before, and indeed their customer service awareness is quite good.
We have to admit that Webhostinggeeks is a very successful hosting review company. Its success stems from their excellent SEO optimization technology and excellent writing skills. The reviews they wrote make you feel impeccable, but I think their ranking of the top ten hosting companies in 2009 is not trustworthy. Here is their ranking:
The top ten hosts in 2009 are: Inmotion, JustHost, WebHostingPad, Bluehost, FatCow, Hostmonster, Globat, Lunarpages, GoDaddy, and Yahoo.
There is no doubt that Godaddy and Yahoo are on the list. The inclusion of FatCow and Globat on the list is questionable. Webhostingpad is a hosting company that has long been notorious, and their inclusion on the list was completely beyond my expectations. Below I will list the top ten notorious hosting providers in the United States.
1. Globat Notoriety Index: Five Stars
Globat was acquired by EIG in March 2009. After that, the company's servers became extremely unstable. Many customers complained that their websites had problems every few days. What's more surprising is that after the acquisition, the company began to deceive "Affiliates" (equivalent to cooperative salesmen) on a large scale. It is hard to imagine that such a company could be ranked among the top ten hosting providers in 2009 on Webhostinggeeks. It's incredible! 5 stars for notoriety – definitely well deserved!
2. Webhostingpad Notoriety Index: Five Stars We have to admit that Webhostingpad has developed rapidly in the past few years. Since the company was established not long ago, they only offer one hosting plan, and the price is so low that it is hard to refuse, only $1.99 per month. But I must remind you not to choose their servers just because they are cheap. Because their customer complaints are the highest among all American server companies, the reason they can develop well is because they have very good market awareness and very shrewd marketing strategies. They can invite many host review websites to join their market camp, and they also joined the marketing system of the well-known American CJ.com, but they deceived many marketers. 5 stars for notoriety – well deserved.
3. Mochahost Notoriety Index: 5 stars
Mochahost can be said to be a company that deceives sellers (Affiliates). The company was founded in 2002 but has not been able to develop further. They have a weak sense of customer service and their hosting plans have many additional terms. A customer was told that they would get a free MSSQL database when purchasing space, but once the purchase was completed, they were forced to pay extra to purchase the database. It's incredible!
4. iPower Notoriety Index: Five Stars
iPower was acquired by EIG in August 2008. I believe that many foreign trade webmasters are familiar with iPower, a once popular American hosting service provider. However, after being acquired by EIG, the quality of its servers and customer service has plummeted, and it has been criticized on the Internet. It is also worth noting that iPower is also a company that deceives sellers - notorious!
5. EasyCGI Notoriety Index: Five Stars
EasyCGI was acquired by EIG in September 2008. Thinking back to how popular EasyCGI was in the United States, today talking about EasyCGI is like talking about a tiger with pale face. If you introduce Easy CGI to your American friends, you will be surprised, "NO, they're sucks!" Today, this brand has been completely ruined. The main reason is that when EIG acquired EasyCGI, it caused the data of tens of thousands of websites to be lost during the server migration. It is hard to imagine how huge the loss was for tens of thousands of websites. Notoriety index 5 stars.
6. iPowerweb Notoriety Index: Five Stars
iPowerweb was once a website as famous as iPower, but after being acquired by EIG, this brand has long disappeared. It was acquired at the same time as iPower, in August 2008.
7. StartLogic Notoriety Index: 5 stars
StartLogic was acquired by EIG in March 2008. Startlogic is a company that mainly focuses on Windows servers. I believe many Chinese are also familiar with their hosts, but after being acquired by EIG, the company's reputation has gradually faded.
8. Dot5 Hosting Notoriety Index: 5 Stars
Dot5Hosting was probably acquired by EIG in 2008. It is also a provider focusing on Windows servers. Not many people in China may have heard of it, but it was once very famous. They only promoted one hosting plan, and now this company is also notorious.
9. PowWeb Notoriety Index: 5 Stars
Powweb is also one of the companies acquired by EIG. They had a good reputation before the acquisition, but now few people care about their servers.
10. Network Solutions Notoriety Index: Five Stars We all know that Network Solutions is a very famous domain name registrar, but seeing that those server providers are making a lot of money, they also joined the ranks of hosting providers. Unfortunately, without an outstanding technical team, the hosting was a mess. You can choose them as your domain registrar, but never choose them as your hosting provider.
Summarize:
I have worked in the hosting industry in the United States for many years and know that the hosting industry is lucrative, but not every hosting provider is so kind and generous. Well-known companies like Hostgator and Bluehost will certainly not deceive their customers. Maybe no one in China has heard of EIG, but they are the third largest hosting provider in the United States and even in the world. They have been able to develop so quickly because of monopoly and mergers. Their current trademarks include: EasyCGI, iPower, iPowerweb, StartLogic, FatCow, iPage, Dot5Hosting, AccountSupport, BizLand, BlueDomino, DomainHost, eHost, EntryHost, FatCow, FreeYellow, HostCentric, HostYourSite, **, IMoutdoorsHosting, Networkshosting, PowWeb, PureHost, ReadyHosting, StartLogic, USANetHosting, VirtualAvenue, Webstrikesolutions, Xeran. EIG's pace of mergers and acquisitions has not stopped.
What kind of company is EIG in the minds of Americans? Some Americans would use the figurative metaphor "Vampire" to describe it, which means vampire, which shows how bloody this company is. Among the many trademarks under EIG, only two brands still maintain a good reputation, one is "FatCow" and the other is "iPage".
Maybe you are curious about why I can know so much about the inside story of American hosting companies. This is because I worked for a very well-known American hosting company three years ago, and this company was acquired by EIG at that time. I advise my Chinese webmaster friends in a responsible manner to be cautious when choosing foreign hosting providers. Otherwise, I hope that Chinese webmasters will not trust the Webhostinggeeks rankings in the end, because many of them are ranked after transactions of money and profit.
