CloudFlare uses CNAME to access domain name resolution for free through SaaS

CloudFlare uses CNAME to access domain name resolution for free through SaaS

1. Prerequisites

1. You need to have a domain name that has been connected to CF through NS. It is only used to set up the fallback source server and is not displayed to the outside world, so there are no requirements.

I applied for a free domain name (jkenc459456.ml) from Freenom and transferred it to CF for demonstration.

2. To activate the Cloudflare for SaaS service, you need to bind a credit card to your CF account.

If you have any concerns about this (worry about being cheated), you can bind it through PayPal.

2. Operation method

1. As shown in the figure, enter the jkenc459456.ml panel, create a new A record as the fallback source, name it back, fill in the IP address you really want to access (the address you want to access), and open the Little Yellow Cloud.

2. As shown in the figure, enter SSL/TLS - Custom Host Name in the panel, fill in the A record domain name back.jkenc459456.ml we just added in the origin server box, click add fallback origin, it will display: Fallback source status (initialization), refresh the page and it will change to: Fallback source status (valid).

3. Click "Add custom host name" above to enter the add page. Fill in the second-level domain name you actually want to access in the custom host name box, such as abcom, and keep other settings as default, as shown in the figure.

4. After adding successfully, the following interface will appear. You need to go to the domain name service provider of b.com to set it up and add two TXT type resolutions, one for certificate verification and the other for host name verification.

5. After adding the TXT resolution of b.com, a valid prompt will appear soon after refreshing, and the setting is successful.

3. Personal Usage

Everyone's demand scenarios are different, so I will briefly talk about my personal usage.

In the domain name settings of b.com, use CNAME to resolve two lines to abcom, one overseas and one domestic. The corresponding value of the overseas line is our CF fallback source address back.jkenc459456.ml, and the corresponding value of the domestic line is the CDN address provided to you by the domestic service provider. In this way, global services can be provided without interfering with each other. The function of simple line division is generally provided free of charge by domain name service providers.
