Using Dropbox to create a static blog

Using Dropbox to create a static blog

Is Jekyll too advanced? For many people it seems so, at least with WordPress for Dummies. However, the advantages of static blogs over WordPress and others are still very obvious, at least for personal blogs. Many people may want to try static blogs but don’t want to spend too much time on them. It should be a lot easier through the following methods.

Publishing for writers who love Markdown and Dropbox

The advantage of publishing updates based on Dropbox is that you can write a blog anywhere, because you just need to sync the document changes. The comment is Disqus , just fill in the name and it will be fine. You can also display the Twitter avatar and follow button. Again, just fill in the username and it will be fine. It's very simple, right? As for the syntax, it supports markdown . It is that simple. You don’t have to worry about the other work. No command line operation is required. For specific details, you can refer to the introduction on the official website. For the guide, you can check out here. It is also a demonstration site. The basic style of the blog should be similar to this (fresh style~). Here is also an article that teaches you how to use ifttt to synchronize articles to wordpress.

scriptogr.am

A simple online tool that converts static Markdown text files located in your Dropbox, into a beautiful blog.

It is also based on Dropbox, and it can complete complex operations in a simple way. Its style is also simple and fresh. There is nothing much to say. Just follow the instructions on the official website.

dl.cuoluo.me

A small tool made by Yibing, just an nginx configuration file. See here for usage.

  1. Create a new folder named cuoluo in the Public directory of your Dropbox. You can now access the contents of this folder via http://dl.cuoluo.me/[your_dropbox_user_id] . Note that you should replace the content in brackets with your Dropbox user ID. (Note: The user ID here can be any file in your Public directory, then click Copy public link , the number after http://dl.dropbox.com/u/ is your ID.)
  2. You can also use a custom URL. First visit http://dl.cuoluo.me and enter your ID and the domain name to be bound. Here it is assumed that the domain name you want to bind is "lamengao". Then create a new folder named cuoluo_lamengao in your Public directory. Now you can access your folder via http://dl.cuoluo.me/lamengao .

Tips: http://dl.cuoluo.me/lamengao can be directly directed to http://dl.cuoluo.me/lamengao/index.html
