WordPress manual upgrade steps

WordPress manual upgrade steps

From the perspective of WordPress upgrades, there are several files that do not change each time. Last night, when I used the background to automatically upgrade to 3.5, it failed, so I upgraded manually and it succeeded once. Here are the steps:
The first step is to back up program files and databases. (In fact, it is okay not to back up. Every time Aiba is upgraded, it has never been backed up.)
Step 2: Before manually upgrading WordPress, it is best to log in to the backend and close all plug-ins. Of course, it will not have much impact if you do not close them, but it is better to close them all.
Step 3. Go to the official WordPress website to download the latest WordPress version.
Step 4: Unzip the installation package to update the data. Replace the files in the wp-admin and wp-includes directories in the website root directory with the latest downloaded program files, or delete the original files and copy the new files in. The contents in the wp-content folder do not need to be changed. It contains theme files, plug-in files, etc.
Step 5. Replace all files in the root directory except wp-config.php. (The wp-config.php file is the wp configuration file, including database connection settings, etc.)
Step 6. Run http://your blog address/wp-admin/upgrade.php and fill in your blog address in the path to execute the upgrade program.
